OK, this is a bicast product. IF you do not know what I mean DO YOUR HOMEWORK! HAving said that this is a nice piece FOR THE MONEY. A top grain sofa would cost 5X this. BUT there are some warnings that go along with my review. YOU MUST take care of the surfaces. DO NOT allow long exposure to body oils. This product has a poly coating that will break down with body oil exposure. IF you must be a couch potatoe, use a throw to buffer the surface. And you MUST wipe down with leather conditioned every 6 months to keep the surface moist. IF YOU DO NOT it will become dry with age and CRACK AND FLAKE. Dont get me wrong, with a little care and TLC this is a good piece for the money. Most people change furnature every 5-6 years anyway. BUT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. IF you want a top grain sofa you will pay 4-6K for it. THis is a nice alternative. Do your research eople on BICAST. It is more of a synthetic than a leather. The only leather is the backing and not what you actually see. Again it is not a bad thing you just have to know what you are buying. FOR THR PRICE I recommend. Just be mindful and take care of it more than a genuine leather sofa. Expect 10 years with care, 4 years without care.

My boyfriend and I purchased this sofa and the love seat three years ago. This sofa is a poor excuse for leather. After two years the leather started cracking and flaking off...I was obviously very upset about this so I contacted Raymour and Flanigan immediately. After fighting for an hour with the customer service representative they finally agreed to have a technician come out free of charge. The technician told us this was "normal" wear and tear and that the quality leather is very poor because it is all of the worst part of leather grinded up and mechanically made. If I would have known this prior I would never purchased this sofa. So now I am stuck with the matching love seat and a flaky torn leather sofa, that I am too embarassed to have my guests see that I have to cover it. After speaking with other friends who purchased "leather" from rand f, they have also had similar issues. I am not going to pay to have it repaired for this to happen again two- three years down the line...I would rather pay extra and take by business elsewhere and buy a completely new sofa and love seat. Save yourself the headache and do not buy this sofa.

Don't buy this - poor quality leather

Comments about CHATEAU D'AX Bellini Leather Sofa:
Avoid this sofa - for the money it's surprisingly poor quality. The surface of the leather wears quickly, and the cushions can't be flipped to hide it or distribute it evenly. Raymour & Flanigan will not repair or replace. This is one of our worst purchases ever. The rating system forces me to give it one star, I would give it zero.

The leather cracked and peeled within 6 months. The attached pictures are at 2.5 years old. I was deployed for most of that time and you can see which seat my wife favored.

Good for 3 years - terrible after that

This sofa was a relatively frequently used sofa for approximately 2 1/2 years and worked great during that time. After we had had it for about 3 years, however, the leather started to bubble and crack and is now completely being stripped from the seat cushions and back rest. We have had it now for approximately 5 years and we are only still using the sofa until we move...it is an eyesore with large patches of the very thin leather covering missing. I would not recommend this sofa as a long-term option if it will be regularly used.

Leather Quality Concern

I had looked for a leather couch for our summer home for weeks. I did not have a budget, but wanted a simple look and not too deep. I looked all over but could not find what I wanted even for $5,000 and up. Then I went to R&F for the first time in my life. This was THE sofa I had been looking for and I saved a fortune by coincidence. Also bought the ottoman. The couch gets very little use and I was just about to order the couch, love seat and ottoman for our primary house when I noticed the leather "separating." There is a little bubble on one of the cushions that looks like a boil or something. Definitely was not there when I bought it. So now I have to investigate what the heck is with this leather as I have never seen leather separate before... Great couch, great look. I would have paid a lot more for it. Now am back to square one for our family room at home and not happy as this would have been a one click answer. I would recommend this as an inexpensive couch that you don't intend to keep for the long haul. Unfortunately, I hate to shop and only want to do this once.

most comfortable sofa ever- long-lasting
By Pat Welch

I bought this sofa set 12 years ago, with the ottoman and 2 chairs. At first I was disappointed because I didn't realize that the nice looking modern legs are just dark plastic, but to my surprise the legs have held up fine. This sofa is just as comfortable and firm as the day I bought it. One of the arms has gotten loose from some heavy friends sitting on it; not the sofa's fault really. It's only in the last year that the leather has started cracking. However, it might also be my fault as I have done almost zero maintenance on the leather (used the leather care products <6X in 12 years). If you're worried about kids and pets with this sofa, "accidents" probably account for the suspiciously-focused leather cracking in the middle seat more than anything else. I would recommend leather treating after each accident in addition to cleaning with a regular gentle cleanser. The ottoman and chairs are still in great condition, like new, so I'm actually going to buy the same sofa again to replace the old one. For comparison, my husband purchased a very high end cloth sofa from another store 6 years ago; the cushions give no support and it already needs replacing from wear and tear on the fabric.
Nice sofa, very comfortable

I bought the Bellini chair, large and small ottomans and sofa for my main living room. It is a great looking set. We've had it for almost a year now and still love it. We just had twins, so they will see much more use in years to come (maybe I'll update my review then!). The only negative I have is that I leaned heavily on the arm one day, with my elbow, and the arm dented in slightly. It isn't anything that you would visibly see, but you could feel the divet. I ended up calling R&F to ask what they could do about it, because I figure something so expensive should be able to withstand my elbow pressure, and they ended up replacing it with no questions asked. Of course, within days of having the new one, I did it again. This time, I didn't bother to request a new one. What I did notice though, when the new one came, is how supportive it felt compared to the one they were taking...and we'd only had it for maybe 4 months at that point. It is the most used piece in the room and you could tell, by comparing it to the new one, how much it had sagged. Still, I'm very happy with the set at this point. We get so many compliments on it and it is super comfortable.
