A Tale of Furniture & Family
Raymour & Flanigan’s roots are in Syracuse, starting in the early 1900s with the consolidation of a jewelry and furniture store under the name M. Goldberg & Sons. The family business continued to grow, and in 1946, Sol Goldberg, with sons Bernard and Arnold, established a new furniture-only company. The name was picked up from a family-owned antiques shop, and Raymour Furniture Company was on its way to becoming the largest furniture and mattress retailer in the northeastern United States and the seventh largest nationwide.
In 1990, Raymour acquired the 14-store Flanigan’s Furniture chain, which gave the company its present name. Today, Raymour & Flanigan continues as a trusted, family-owned furnishings destination with a growing selection of convenient showroom and outlet locations. The company's third generation is dedicated to helping customers make their lives more comfortable now and in the future. Raymour & Flanigan offers a broad, on-trend assortment with styles and prices designed to fit any taste or budget, ensuring every customer can bring their vision of the perfect space to life.
