A Nursery for a First-time Parent: Q&A with Jannel Therese
Content creator and first-time mom, Jannel Therese, recently discussed how her love for creativity and some designs from Raymour & Flanigan helped inspire her son Jonah’s nursery. She explains which Raymour & Flanigan pieces she chose to furnish the space and her favorite parts of the finished room.
Did you have a particular vision for your nursery?
I knew I wanted a minimal, cozy, and clean aesthetic for this nursery as a lot of his books and toys will be colorful. I wanted it to be calm when everything was put away. After seeing some whimsical animal designs at Raymour & Flanigan, I knew it was the perfect accent theme to mix and match from different collections.
What made you choose Raymour & Flanigan to outfit your nursery?
From our bedroom to the living room, Raymour & Flanigan has been part of our home for years now and the pieces stand the test of time so I figured the nursery will be no different.
What’s your favorite part of the space?
My favorite part of the nursery is the recliner/lounge chair. It is so cozy and comfortable. I must admit we put it outside of the nursery and into our living room for a while. It has lulled my baby to sleep many times and has been my safe place during those 3 a.m. feeds. I absolutely love it and it is a must in any nursery or any room!
What was important to have in the nursery?
The most important piece in this space is the crib. Keeping this space minimal, I knew every major piece of furniture had to be quality to go through our baby’s development. Jonah is just about ready to graduate from the bassinet and onto his crib and I am so happy with the Greyson Convertible Crib with Toddler Rail. I love that it is convertible for when my son gets older.
What helps tie everything together?
The Dottie Area Rug definitely pulls every piece together. I love the playful polka dot design and it truly is the perfect centerpiece to our baby’s room.
