The heroic tale of a sleeper sofa

Raymour & Flanigan Copywriter Zach Jennings recently sang the praises of his sleeper sofa in a team meeting. We knew it was a story we should share with you. Take it away, Zach!

Guest room to sleep in

When my wife and I moved ourselves, our son, and our dogs from a 960-square-foot, one-story shoe box to a 1,500-square-foot raised ranch with three bedrooms, we knew we were set on space. Our in-laws would now have a guest room to sleep in, and the family room downstairs could serve as a cozy den and play space. That all rang true until we discovered a second tiny human was set to make an appearance. Let’s just say we had to make some adjustments. Initially, we were concerned—did we just buy a house only to spend one year in it before having to upsize again? Finally, it occurred to us to implement one of the most overlooked and underappreciated pieces of furniture: a sleeper sofa. What. A. Gamechanger. With all bedrooms spoken for, we turned to the family room. The last thing we wanted was family and guests having to stay at a hotel, and air mattresses are no fun.
Unwind and sleep at night

Myth: Sleeper sofas are clunky and ugly.

Truth: Sleepers come in all shapes, sizes, and styles. It’s never been easier to find one you’ll love.

Did you know that some even come with memory foam mattresses? Talk about convenient comfort!

These days we have all the room we need to play, and everyone has their own designated space to unwind and sleep at night.

If you find yourself needing to multipurpose a room or offer guests a place to stay, I highly recommend a sleeper sofa. It looks and feels like a couch with a wonderful, easy-to-use surprise inside.
